Arecanut

Arecanut is one of the most important commercial crops in the Southeast Asia. The cultivation of Arecanut can be traced back to Vedic periods. Arecanut was even used in Ayurvedic and Ethane veterinary medicines. Popularly known as betel nut or supari, arecanut grown in India, China, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Sri Lanka. India ranks first in arecanut production in the world. In India the cultivation of arecanut is mostly confined to Karnataka (40%), Kerala (25%) & Assam (20%). It is also cultivated to a small extent in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Andra Pradesh, Meghalaya, Goa, Tripura, Pondicherry, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The share of Karnataka, Kerala & Assam in terms of total area under cultivation and production is around 83 percent. Karnataka stands first both in terms of area & production followed by Kerala & Assam. The area under arecanut cultivation has increased more rapidly in Shimogga district as compared to Dakshin Kannada & Uttara Kannada districts.

ATHREYA Suryashakthi Technology

Magic Root to be applied first (0th day), followed by RuBisCO-ACT (Formula 1) application after 11-days (11th Day) and then 14 days after (25th Day) Photon-MAX to be applied and no chemical fertilizer should be given 12 to 15days prior to Formula-1 application and 15 to 20 days after formula-2 application.

  • Magic Root Preparation: Dissolve 200gm of Athreya-ZINC+ in 100 liter water first, followed by 2.5Kg of 12:61:0 (MAP) and 2.5Kg of Sulfate of Potash (SOP) with stirring, then add 1Kg of Magic Root and mix well, add 100 liter water and mix well before applying
  • RuBisCO-ACT Preparation: Dissolve 1Kg of RuBisCO-ACT in 100-liter water, mix well and then add 100-liter water leave it for 10 minutes and mix well before application
  • Photon-MAX Preparation: Dissolve 1Kg of Photon-MAX in 100-liter water, mix well and then add 100-liter water leave it for 20 minutes and mix well before application

Dosage

Soil application

  • Up to 2 years – 1 liter per plant
  • 2nd years to 5 Years – 2 liter per plant
  • After 5 years – 3 liters per plant

Nutrient Management Schedule

Nutrients to be applied after 20 days from the date of Photon-MAX application and different combinations are given at an interval of 15 days

Water Management

Drip irrigation is recommended and about 15 liters per plant per day is recommended for better yield.
