Sugarcane

Sugar Cane

Sugarcane is an important commercial crop worldwide and one of the principal sources of sugar, ethanol and jaggery globally. Its byproducts are also used as a fodder to feed livestock in many countries. Though its cultivation started around 327 BC in the Indian subcontinents, it gradually found its way to the rest of the world via trade routes through Middle East. Later, it arrived and flourished as an industry in the New World. Brazil tops the list of sugarcane producers and the South-Central region of Brazil is accountable for more than 90 percent of this national production output. India tops second and in India, the states of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Bihar produce the maximum quantities of sugarcane. India is one of the largest exporters of sugar worldwide. In India, sugarcane is cultivated to produce crystal sugar, jaggery (Gur), and numerous alcoholic beverages.

Advantages of Suryashakthi in Sugarcane cultivation

  • Suryashakthi application to sugarcane improves the formation of active root biomass and active leaves. Increased active root biomass helps the plant in efficient absorption of water and nutrients from the soil. Similarly, active leaves help in improving the photosynthetic rate of the plant and they’re by fixes more carbon dioxide from atmosphere to sugar compounds.
  • Suryashakthi application helps sugarcane plantlet to break the initial non-growth period and helps to grow 2 to 3 feet height in initial 6-month period with proper positioning of the leaves to stem axis so the leaves can capture more solar energy.
  • Hence, Suryashakthi treated plant show more vigor in growth and development.
  • Suryashakthi application improves the tolerance of the sugarcane against certain fungal and bacterial diseases.
  • Suryashakthi application improves overall yield of the crop by minimum 40% compared to the non-treated field by improved height and girth of the plant.
  • Suryashakthi application is recommended two times a year for better crop growth and development.

Diseases of Sugarcane

  • Leaf Spot
  • Leaf Rust
  • Leaf Edge necrosis symptoms

Method of Suryashakthi Application:

  • First dose: 3Kg of RuBisCO-ACT per acre + 3Kg of Photon MAX
  • Second dose: 3Kg of RuBisCO-ACT per acre + 3Kg of Photon MAX
  • In case of leaf spot, leaf rust and Leaf necrosis apply 4Kg of RuBisCO-ACT per acre first followed by 4Kg of Photon MAX per acre at 30 days from planting and repeat the same at 180 days from first application

Application time:

  • RuBisCO-ACT (Formula 1) to be applied first and 15 days after (within 25 days) Photon-MAX to be applied and no chemical fertilizer should be given 20 to 25days prior to Formula-1 application and 20 to 25 days after formula-2 application.
  • During second application also, the same protocol to be followed, in any case the two formulations should not be combined during application and should not with any agrochemicals (insecticide, fungicide or chemical fertilizer).
  • Response will be better if FYM is applied and has better sunlight with adequate irrigation.
